My name is Bryan. I am a recent graduate from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and received a B.S. in Geography. I love the outdoors, being in nature, and conquering the elements. The physical world has always intrigued me and my goal is to experience every bit of it before I die. But first, I have to figure out a way to make it happen and be content with the fact that it is not going to change over night. While I attempt to put my life together (professionally and individually) I think about the world and where I am in the midst of it all–so I begin to write.
A lot has changed and scenes have transitioned so fast in the past couple years that I step back and wonder how I’ve gotten here. (Read about my transformation My Story: Fat to Fit.) Life has its positive and negative fluctuations, but I think the best part of it is rising out of the valley, reaching the light above the clouds, and feeling the warmth and clarity of understanding. For me, it’ s hard to do that sitting on my butt. Activities like yoga, rock climbing, and running help me clear out thoughts of contradiction and confusion and help me get back to the now.
I love fresh foods, craft beers, and wine. I’m not a health nut, but I do watch what and how much I eat to maintain a healthy body. My go to fruits include oranges, apples, and bananas and I like to snack on nuts (almonds, cashews.. you name it, I’ll bite), granola, and cheese.
Mostly, this blog is about keeping in line what I feel is most important to my life. It can be challenging to prioritize and line up the events and influences in life. That’s why I chose to start a blog so I can keep track of what I do and what keeps me interested.
Currently, in regards to professionalism, I try to stay up-to-date with the global energy issue, moves toward realizing renewable energy sources, and energy efficiency. I am a BPI Certified Building Analyst and Envelope Shell Professional (Learn how I got my BPI Certification for free) and I currently work for a solar energy systems contractor.
Individually, there is a lot going on in my head that my fingers are not quick enough to type. But the gist of what I post is to be truly engaged in what I involve myself in and to take note of what I like, and sometimes talk about what I don’t like so much. I’d like to think of myself as an honorary steward of the planet and promoter of ecologically sound principles, so I practice where ever I can.
Thanks for reading.
